(Graphic) Introduction

Math students will start learning about multiplication in either grade 1 or grade 2 by grouping objects and then count the sum of these groups. Once the relationship with addition is fully understood, the multiplication tables can be introduced. We have several graphic multiplication worksheets on this page and, of course, a lot of worksheets covering the basic multiplication facts (tables). It is, in our opinion, the most important math skill set that kids need to master. Math learners need to be able to recite the times tables without thinking because this skill is needed throughout all grade levels. The less time a math learners wastes on multiplication (and division) facts, the more time available to understand the other topics.

For math grade level 1 we offer multiplication in pictures worksheets and exercises based on grouping. Students in the lower primary math grades really benefit from a graphic, picture based introduction to multiplication.

We feel that mastery of basic multiplication and division facts are the key to real understanding of math in all coming math years. Ones students can dream, sleep and recite facts, all the other math topics will become easier.

For the higher primary math years we offer multiple digit multiplication worksheets, multiplying fractions and decimals worksheets, multiplying integers and negative numbers worksheets, missing multipliers and multiplicand worksheets and even multiplication of square roots worksheets.
